Couleurs cuivres is a thundering life of a brass quintet with its moods, its personalities as well as its solidarity, its mutual infinity, and quiet moments of happiness abruptly turned up side down by the arrival of a provocative percussionist. Once this part of intimidation started, the entire repertoire contributes joyfully up to a final communicative euphoria.
The childish traditional songs ‘Mother Michel’, ‘Marlborough goes off to war’, ‘Il était un petit navire’ etc. as well as hits such as ‘Couluer Café’, ‘Comme d’habitude ‘ or older hits such as ‘Te Deum by Charpentier, ‘The Bolero’ by Ravel, ‘la Marseillaise...’ but also standards such as ‘Caravan by Duke Ellington, ‘Moanin’ by Charlie Mingus, The girl from Ipanema...’ or pieces less known by Claude Bolling, by Fillmore, by Weber
