The story

It is the story of charmingly sound dawn. Crossed melodies of a warbler, a magpie, a heron, trills improvised by a nightingale... So many songs as the composer Olivier Messiaen (1908-1992) spent his life to be collected. But that watched the artist otherwise for the mystery of a word dedicated to greet every morning all the beauty of the world? Inspired by this experience, brass instruments and percussions of Odyssée transform the contemporary scores in singing of talkative birds. Not mischievously.

The works for only instrument are maybe the most fascinating part of the contemporary music for brass instruments. Big composers so different as Messiaen, Krawczyk or Levinas got down to it successfully. It is these various styles which we are going to use to define musically the various birds of the spectacle...

Parole d'oiseau ! is a tribute to Olivier Messiaen (1908-1992), who is certainly the biggest French composer of the XXth century. He spent his life to collect and to retranscribe thousands of singings of birds of all the countries, which he considered as the best melody composers and improvisers on earth.
This collection, he used it in all his work, but he also delivered us a part, through 1300 pages which form the fifth volume of his monumental "traité de rythme, de couleur et d'ornithologie".
