The situation…

Five men are gathered in a studio to record a contemporary music platter. This work is even more delicate as they are waiting for a sound ingeneer who never arrives…
This unhinging (and humorous !) situation brings out their doubts and hopes… And in a way, their human side.And then, as the show progress, all of them will reveal and communicate their specific love for this music.

The musical directory…

Pieces for one instrument are perhaps the more fascinating part of the contemporary music dedicated to brass wind. Well-known composers as different as Stockhausen, Xenakis, Messiaen, Levinas, Krawczyk or Penderecki have tackled it with success. We’ll use these different styles to define in musical term each character of the show.

Yet, as in the real life, each character’s monologue’ll be interrupted, contradicted or, on the contrary, approved by the others.So, it’ s through a quite iconoclast work based on adaptation (written or improvised) and sound treatment in live that we’ll create the answers of the other characters, changing the least possible the principal instrument initial solo …

There’ll be also some chorals during wich all the instruments and characters get together in a common langage : Charles Ives, Steve Reich, … But, through dramatizations and adaptations, that’s indeed the human and sensual sides of the contemporary music that we want to underline.
